Natural Cleaved Fluorite Octahedron Blue Grey Cave-in-Rock Illinois Old Stock.
This is a large naturally cleaved fluorite octahedron. Old stock from the 80’s. Bluish gray with a slight lavender tint in color with a pale green band inside.
When the miners tapped on the fluorite at a certain point on the mineral the fluorite would break on the cleavage creating the octahedron shape.
