John Van Range Company Cincinnati, Ohio
John Van a French Canadian who was born in 1812 and immigrated to the U S in the 1840's is listed in the 1850 Cincinnati Census as a tin and coppersmith. John Van and Henry V Barringer obtained a patent in 1859 for their new and useful improvements to cooking stoves and ranges. John Van received several subsequent patents on his own for ranges, stove and culinary equipment. He died in about 1895.
